Mark S. Kinzer, Ph.D. - Rabbi
Rabbi Dr. Mark Kinzer is the Spiritual Leader of Congregation Zera Avraham. Ordained to the
rabbinate in 2001 by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, he has led our congregation
since its inception in 1993.
Rabbi Kinzer received his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies from the University
of Michigan in 1995. He has taught at the University of Michigan, Michigan
State University, and Fuller Theological Seminary.
Rabbi Kinzer is Senior Scholar and President-Emeritus of Messianic Jewish Theological Institute, a Messianic Jewish educational center based in Jerusalem and Los Angeles.
Rabbi Kinzer is also the chairman of the board of Hashivenu, a group that
sponsors an annual theology forum for Messianic Jewish leaders in Pasadena,
California.
Rabbi Kinzer is the author of the following books:
- Postmissionary Messianic Judaism: Redefining Christian Engagement With The Jewish People (Brazos, 2005)
- Israel's Messiah and the People of God: A Vision for Messianic Jewish Covenant Fidelity (Cascade, 2011)

Isaac Roussel - Assistant Spiritual Leader
Our Assistant Spiritual Leader is Isaac Roussel. Isaac began his career as a chemist, but now works as a usability and design manager in the financial industry.
He is currently pursuing Smikhah (Rabbinical Ordination) at Messianic Jewish
Theological Institute. He has spoken at numerous churches about Judaism and the Jewish Roots of Christianity with the goal of helping them understand their relationship to the People of Israel and appreciate the beauty of Jewish tradition.
